Greek Life Study Group
Mission of the Study Group
This study group is designed to create a road map for excellence within the fraternity and sorority community at Ohio Wesleyan.
One end product of this study will be a clear statement of relationships among the university, the fraternity and sorority organizations, and the respective alumni groups and national offices associated with each fraternity and sorority.
Focus Groups:
The following is a list of questions asked during each focus group meeting: The links that follow includes the Greek Life Study team members who conducted the focus group, as well as the notes taken from those meetings.
Now:

- What is the importance and value of fraternity and sorority life at OWU?
- What is the role of fraternity and sorority life at OWU?
- What are the strengths of fraternity and sorority life at OWU?
Future:
- What is your vision of fraternity and sorority life at OWU?
- What do you want it to be?
- What can it be?

December 5, 2008:
Discuss and adopt the final recommendation for Greek housing and facilities. This will be forwarded to the two strategic planning workgroups for inclusion in their work.
This would complete work of the study group regarding facilities.
December 11, 2008:
Meeting with the undergraduate fraternity and sorority members to discuss Housing related topics, that have arisen during the Greek Life Study. (click here to see the presentation).

The Focus for Spring 2009 is to utilize informaiton from the Focus Groups to create a relationship statement and road map for the future. As a guide, the Greek Life Study group will refer to the Statement of Relations used by Albion College (this document may be found in the Resources area of the website) and will meet reguarly to discuss the creation of such a document for Oho Wesleyan:

A Residential Life and Greek Life Task Force Joint Presentation was created for each of the Fraternity chapters and presented by Allison Bressler (Assistand Director of Student Involvement for Greek Life), Wendy Piper (Assistant Dean of Students and Director of Residential Life), and Dr. Craig Ullom (Vice-President for Student Affairs). This presentation was given to each of the chapters, including students, alumni, and housing corperation members on the following dates: Phi Kappa Psi (2/2/09 - minutes), Phi Delta Theta (2/5/09 - minutes), Alpha Sigma Phi (2/5/09 - minutes), Sigma Phi Epsilon (2/9/09 - minutes), Delta Tau Delta (2/14/09 - minutes), Chi Phi (2/18/09 - minutes) and Sigma Chi (2/23/09 - minutes)
