Through the years the sorority has gradually branched out and become the channel through which selected college-trained women improved the socioeconomic conditions in their city, state, nation, and the world through the sorority's five target program, which is implemented at the undergraduate and alumnae levels.

Alpha Kappa Alpha is a sisterhood composed of women who have consciously chosen this affiliation as a means of self-fulfillment through volunteer service. Alpha Kappa Alpha cultivates and encourages high scholastic and ethical standards; Alpha Kappa Alpha 2
promotes unity and friendship among college women; alleviates problems concerning girls and women; and serves all mankind through a nucleus of more than 170,000 women in the United States, the Caribbean, Europe, and Africa.

We have two main events: Mr. OWU and Jail N Bail. Mr. OWU is a male "Miss America" pageant where fraternity men strut their stuff on stage. The whole evening is very entertaining because each contestant wants to be crowned "Mr. OWU"! Jail N Bail, held in the spring, is a service event where people across campus can "arrest" their friends for a night. The event is very successful and everyone has a great time going to jail or a night. Our other service events include T-Shirt auctions and holiday themed parties. Kappa Alpha Theta

Sisterhood events include canoeing, trips to Magic Mountain, and Disney on Ice! We also have social events such as Mystery Date, Theta Thief, and Broomball. Our members can be found across the campus participating in many different activities, such as softball, field hockey, Bishop Buddies, WCSA, and Columbus Initiative. Join Theta and join in all the fun!
