Kappa Alpha Theta was founded in 1881 at Ohio Wesleyan University. Our philanthropy is CASA, Court Appointed Special Advocates. This program consists of community volunteers appointed by a judge to speak up for abused and neglected children in court.

We have two philanthropy events each year: Mr. OWU and Kats With Bats. Mr. OWU is a male "Miss America" pageant where men from the fraternities and other student organizations strut their stuff on stage. The whole evening event features a series of competitions including a talent, catwalk and money wars. Only one man can be crowned "Mr. OWU!" Our spring philanthropy is Kats with Bats, a wiffle ball tournament. Other service events include holiday-themed parties where sisters interact with children and CASAs.

Our sisterhood events include pumpkin picking and house dinners, and we have social events such as mystery date, and formals in the spring and fall. Our members can be found across the campus participating in many different activities, including the Panhellenic Council Executive Board, theatre productions, Pitch Black, Big Brothers/Big Sisters, campus tour guides and sports teams
